Guesty, an AI platform for short-term rentals, has completed its acquisition of Smily, formerly known as BookingSync, a French property management system and channel manager. France has more than 1 million active short-term rental listings and generated $9 billion in gross booking value through online travel agencies over the past year. Founded by Sébastien Grosjean in 2005 and serving paying customers since 2010, Smily brings regional technology and expertise to Guesty. The companies will combine product, engineering and customer-support resources and introduce Guesty’s AI capabilities and Agent Hub to the French market. Transaction terms were not disclosed, while all five Smily founders and a group of shareholders are reinvesting part of their proceeds in Guesty equity.
