Comp AI, a cybersecurity and compliance startup operating under the legal name Bubba AI, Inc., has raised a $34 million Series A led by Roo Capital and Grand Ventures. Founded last January by CEO Lewis Carhart, COO Claudio Fuentes and CTO Mariano Fuentes, the company is developing an agentic platform that automates security and compliance work, including drafting policies, collecting audit evidence, monitoring controls and testing codebases and infrastructure for vulnerabilities. The software is designed to support rather than replace independent auditors or human reviewers. Comp AI emerged from the founders' previous startup, LeapAI, a workflow platform that surpassed one million users before shutting down because they did not find a sufficiently durable use case. The experience also exposed the time-consuming nature of SOC 2 compliance for enterprise software companies. Comp AI has raised $37.5 million to date, according to the company. Its earlier disclosures said the platform is open source under the AGPLv3 license, supports frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001 and GDPR, and had generated between $5 million and $7 million in annual recurring revenue by mid-2026. The company reported 680 to 900 customers, more than 2,500 hours saved for early users, a planned team of about 23 employees by mid-2026 and plans to hire roughly 20 more after the financing. Comp AI says the wider adoption of AI is creating demand for continuous monitoring of agent permissions, actions and accountability because audits do not capture every subsequent system change. Its long-term goal is to help 100,000 companies achieve compliance by 2032.
