Moonshot AI launched a finance-focused version of its Kimi model for investment banks, asset managers and venture capital firms, integrating the system with more than 10 financial data providers. Connections include Wind, East Money, S&P Global, Caixin Data and Cailian Press, while Kimi can also retrieve information from EDGAR, the IMF, the World Bank and the Federal Reserve’s FRED platform. The product includes nine pre-configured capabilities for financial modeling, research-report generation, IPO analysis, portfolio morning summaries, earnings commentary, project screening and portfolio reviews. Moonshot says modeling work that normally takes five to seven person-days can be completed in half a day to one day, while deep research assignments lasting 10 to 20 days can be reduced to about two days for pilot users. Early adopters include ICBC, CSC Financial, E Fund, CICC, Hong Shan — formerly Sequoia China — and ZhenFund, with dozens of institutional clients overall. Pricing ranges from 49 yuan ($7.31) to 699 yuan ($104.23) a month. Moonshot is also pursuing a confidential Hong Kong IPO targeting $3 billion at a $50 billion valuation, while facing U.S. scrutiny over allegations that its Kimi K3 model was trained with restricted Nvidia chips, which the company has disputed.
