JPYC Co. restored issuance reservations on Ethereum after temporarily suspending the function during an investigation, while Polygon reservations remained offline. The disruption coincided with JPYC’s September 17 debut on South Korea’s Upbit, where reported peaks ranged from 27.2 to 35.7 Korean won, equivalent to about 3.3 yen or $0.02145, before the token fell toward about 8 won, near the roughly 8.8-won value implied by the yen-to-won exchange rate. JPYC’s issuance and redemption window remained fixed at 1 yen per JPYC. A newer report said circulation increased by about ¥2.36 billion after the listing, contrasting with an earlier report that supply had declined to about 1.9 billion tokens; the figures may reflect different measurement times or definitions. Upbit initially blocked JPYC deposits and withdrawals, resumed them at 6:50 p.m., and supports transfers only over Ethereum. JPYC said its notices did not indicate an impact on transfers or existing balances and withheld the cause pending investigation.
