Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang said the company expects to sell twice as many chips next year as this year, citing expanding artificial intelligence investment across industries and countries. The unit-volume forecast does not directly indicate revenue growth because Nvidia does not disclose total chip shipments and prices vary sharply among its products. Nvidia shares closed 2.5% higher at $219.34 following Huang's remarks. The company has begun volume production of its Vera Rubin GPU, which uses HBM4, while the Rubin Ultra platform planned for next year is set to use HBM4E. The shift could raise high-bandwidth memory demand for Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, whose HBM revenue has primarily come from HBM3E. Huawei also unveiled the Ascend 960 AI chip and Atlas 960E SuperPoD system, which can link up to 4,096 chips and up to 1 petabyte of HBM. At the Scotland AI summit, Huang said unsafe products should not be released until they are improved, while King Charles III warned of AI risks without sufficient controls.
