Tokenized traditional assets excluding stablecoins surpassed $35 billion in onchain value as of Sept. 7, 2026, roughly tripling from a year earlier, according to RWA.xyz data cited by crypto market analysis channel Unfolded. Tokenized stocks reached roughly $2.3 billion by July 2026, nearly doubling from more than $1 billion in March. U.S. Treasuries led the measured broader market, while commodities, primarily gold, and private credit were also major categories. The narrower onchain market was below $3 billion in mid-2024 and roughly $12 billion when the GENIUS Act was signed into law in July 2025. The act established a federal framework for payment stablecoins rather than directly regulating tokenized real-world assets, reducing uncertainty around settlement infrastructure. Separately, a Globe Newswire report issued in Austin on Sept. 18, 2026, projected the broader asset-tokenization market would grow from $3 trillion in 2025 to $130.67 trillion by 2035 at a 45.83% CAGR. The broader market includes tokenized real estate, private equity, bonds, commodities, listed shares, ETFs and pre-IPO assets linked to companies including OpenAI, SpaceX and Anthropic. Token structures can represent direct ownership, economic exposure or another claim, so backing, redemption rights, issuer, blockchain, pricing and liquidity vary. The Clarity Act was expected to face a vote around mid-September 2026 and was identified as a possible regulatory milestone for digital-asset transactions and tokenized assets.
