Nvidia has committed $2 billion to Brookfield Asset Management's global artificial intelligence infrastructure fund, according to investor documents cited by Bloomberg, providing the first disclosed figure for an investment previously announced by the companies. Nvidia and the Kuwait Investment Authority are cornerstone investors in the fund, which targets AI factories, behind-the-meter power systems and compute infrastructure. Brookfield is raising $10 billion for the fund and plans to raise about $50 billion for its infrastructure business over the next two years, while estimating that more than $7 trillion will be needed over the next decade across data centers, power generation, networking and compute. Brookfield CEO Bruce Flatt said at the firm's annual Investor Day on September 17 that power shortages, construction timelines and six-to-10-year grid interconnection queues are slowing AI expansion despite major hyperscaler capital spending, projected at about $760 billion in 2026 versus around $200 billion in 2022.
