Singapore-based stablecoin payments company dtcpay has completed a $25 million Series A financing, adding SBI Group as a strategic investor through SBI Ventures Asset Pte Ltd and the SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund. Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India led the initial $10 million tranche, which Vertex announced on March 17, while Genedant Capital and existing investor Kwee Liong Tek also participated. Dtcpay did not disclose its valuation or the amounts invested by individual participants. The company will use the funding to revamp its enterprise portal, add consumer features to its dtcpay app and expand its merchant network. Dtcpay provides tools for businesses and individuals to accept, hold and transact in stablecoins, including a swap engine connecting stablecoin and fiat settlement, direct merchant acceptance and card-based spending. SBI Ven Capital CEO Eiichiro So described the investment as the start of a strategic partnership focused on regulated digital-asset infrastructure between Japan and Southeast Asia, though no Japan launch date was announced.
