European equities edged lower on Friday after their strongest daily advance in more than two months, with the STOXX Europe 600 down 0.2% to 641.57 points, or 0.21%, by 0717 GMT. The benchmark remained near a more than one-week high and was on course for a 0.54% weekly gain, its first in three weeks. Telecom shares fell 1.8%, led by declines in Deutsche Telekom and Airtel Africa, while technology stocks gained 0.9% on strength in Aixtron and Infineon Technologies. Markets were reassured after the Federal Reserve unanimously raised rates by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4%, while the Bank of England held at 3.75% but warned of a possible November increase. Brent crude fell 1.5% on Friday to near $104 a barrel but remained nearly 15% higher on the week.
