Poland’s industrial output rose 4.3% year on year in August 2026, down from a revised 4.9% in July and below the 6.8% expected by economists. It was the slowest annual increase since April, as manufacturing growth eased to 3.4% from 4.4%. Growth weakened sharply in beverages and machinery repair and installation, while tobacco products, textiles and clothing recorded declines. Output also slowed in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation. Mining and quarrying growth edged higher, and electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning output accelerated. On a monthly basis, production fell 7.5%, following a revised 2.0% decline in July. Industrial output was 3.5% higher in January-August than during the same period a year earlier.
