Kevin O'Leary, chairman of O'Leary Ventures, said at the Avalanche Summit in New York on September 18 that he is buying new digital-asset positions for the next market cycle. He described a major stock exchange adopting blockchain infrastructure for settlement or trading as a potential watershed moment that could encourage connected companies and financial institutions to use compatible systems. O'Leary projects a near-term Bitcoin peak of $150,000, while a $750,000 valuation is circulating as an upper bound if institutions treat Bitcoin similarly to gold. He said Bitcoin could eventually represent 1% to 3% of institutional alternative-asset allocations, but stressed that regulatory clarity is the main condition for broader participation. O'Leary viewed the Senate's failure to advance the CLARITY Act as a setback, while citing progress on digital-asset tax legislation. He also said Bitcoin and Ethereum together represent roughly 97% of the digital-asset market's total value, although Ethereum has not secured large-scale adoption cases over the past year.
