India’s BSE Sensex fell nearly 20 points to settle at 74,295 on Friday as cautious global sentiment followed the US Federal Reserve’s first interest-rate increase in more than three years and its signal of further hikes this year. The outlook heightened concerns about foreign institutional investor (FII) outflows, while geopolitical tensions and strong IPO activity added pressure. Tata Group stocks led the decline amid fresh uncertainty over the conglomerate’s control structure and leadership. TCS, Titan and Tata Steel fell between 1.7% and 4.3%, while Asian Paints, Maruti, Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharma and NTPC also declined. Adani Ports gained 3.8% after Jefferies cited multiple growth drivers across the group’s infrastructure and energy businesses. The Sensex lost about 0.7% for the week.
