Bitcoin climbed above $81,000 on September 19 to a roughly two-week high after recovering from a decline toward $75,000 following the Senate’s failed procedural vote on the CLARITY Act. The rebound was supported by more than $250 million in leveraged short liquidations, returning U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF inflows, bullish derivatives positioning and broader rotation into altcoins and tokenized assets. Bitcoin’s market capitalization reached $1.630 trillion and dominance was 58.7% on CoinMarketCap, while total crypto-market capitalization was reported at either $2.780 trillion, up $150 billion in one day, or $2.66 trillion in a separate market snapshot. Ethereum rose 5% to reclaim $2,600, XRP gained 6.4% to move above $1.40 and Solana advanced 5.4% past $110; over the prior month, Ether, Binance and Solana were reported up 35%, 25% and 41%, respectively. The move came despite the Federal Reserve’s 25-basis-point rate increase to 3.75%-4.00% and the Bank of Japan’s increase to 1.25%. The SEC introduced a conditional five-year Innovation Exemption for certain tokenized U.S. stock offerings, while the CFTC advanced crypto-rulemaking proposals for White House review. Resistance near $81,800-$83,000 remains decisive, with a sustained break potentially exposing $84,000-$86,000, while failure to hold $80,000 could return Bitcoin toward $78,300-$78,700 and then $74,000-$76,000.
