Intel shares rose more than 1% in premarket trading Friday after reports that SK hynix is discussing U.S. memory-chip production with Intel, potentially through an Ohio facility lease or joint venture. Intel closed Thursday at $108.80, up 7.67%, on volume of 147.2 million shares, about 35% above its three-month average. SK hynix said it is exploring various options and that nothing has been finalized. Analysts have recently raised their views, including Barclays' upgrade to Overweight and Tigress Financial's $145 price target, while Intel has a Hold consensus rating and an average forecast of $112.74. The stock trades above its 20-day and 200-day simple moving averages, with positive MACD momentum, but resistance near $126.50 and support around $102.50 remain key technical levels. A deal could provide Intel's foundry business with a prominent customer as it seeks to strengthen U.S. semiconductor manufacturing and compete with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.
