The prospective buyers of the Los Angeles Lakers are presenting investors with a plan to raise the team’s average ticket price from $217 to $361 within two years by eliminating ticket brokers and using dynamic pricing. The $361 figure is an illustration of potential incremental revenue rather than an immediate price increase, according to a person familiar with the deal. Joshua Kushner’s Thrive Eternal and former Disney Chief Executive Bob Iger agreed last month to buy a controlling interest in the Lakers at a $12.5 billion valuation, subject to NBA approval. Their investor presentation projects nearly $600 million in annual profit by 2037 and a franchise value of $30 billion, supported by ticket prices, media rights, sponsorships and international growth.
