Paramount Skydance and 12 states led by California Attorney General Rob Bonta are in advanced negotiations to settle an antitrust lawsuit seeking to block Paramount's $111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The talks include discussions of specific remedies and follow weeks of public pressure from Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for Bonta to resolve the case. Paramount Chief Executive David Ellison is also seeking a resolution before Oct. 1, when Paramount faces an additional $7 million daily payment to Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders beyond the $81 billion already agreed. Paramount has considered leaving California during the dispute and has explored roughly 400,000 square feet of potential Nashville office space for a move within two to three years.
