Circle Internet Group became one of the most widely tokenized public stocks after listing on the New York Stock Exchange, with the 20 largest deployments of its shares reaching a combined market capitalization of $305.5 million. The broader tokenized equities market grew from below $20 million in late 2024 to more than $3.1 billion by early September 2026, an all-time high. Three products account for most of Circle's tokenized share activity: Ondo Finance's CRCLon, Binance-linked CRCLB and Backed Finance's CRCLx. A conditional order from the SEC (U.S. securities regulator), effective September 17, 2026, established a framework for trading tokenized U.S. stocks through 2031. Circle's shares rose roughly 5.7% to $85.03 after the announcement, although the framework does not fully equate tokenized stocks with traditional securities or permit unregistered issuance. Circle's focus on digital dollar infrastructure gives it visibility among both traditional equity investors and crypto-native capital, as tokenized equities extend real-world asset tokenization from fixed-income products into assets carrying equity risk.
