RippleX, the team behind the XRP Ledger’s reference server software, released xrpld version 3.4.0 on September 17 through the XRPL Foundation’s GitHub repository. The update adds LendingProtocolV1_1 and fixCleanup3_4_0, while retiring fixAMMOverflowOffer. LendingProtocolV1_1 extends the existing LendingProtocol and SingleAssetVault amendments with closed-ended vaults that progress through subscription, investment and redemption phases. These phases define when assets can be deposited, loans can be originated and assets can be redeemed. Once activated, new loan brokers can be created only against closed-ended vaults. The amendment also introduces cash-basis accounting, recognizing interest as income when borrowers make payments rather than when loans are originated. The bundled fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment updates trustline restrictions for OfferCreate, excludes deleted domain offers from the Permissioned DEX invariant and fixes AMMClawback behavior involving integer rounding and owner reserves. Version 3.4.0 also relocates xrpld DEB and RPM packages to packages.xrplf.org, where they are signed with an XRPLF key, and urges XRP Ledger server operators to upgrade to maintain service continuity. Neither new amendment activates immediately; both remain subject to the network’s validator-voting process. The release adds to recent XRPL development, including the September Batch V1.1 amendment and support for Stripe and Tempo’s AI payment standard. The lending changes give decentralized finance (DeFi) activity on the XRP Ledger a defined vault structure and make reported interest more closely reflect collected cash, while validator approval remains necessary for deployment.
