Wallets suspected of being linked to BIT, formerly Matrixport, transferred a combined 2,400 BTC to Binance over four days, including 1,000 BTC worth $81.06 million on Sept. 19 and 1,400 BTC valued at $107.8 million on Sept. 15. Lookonchain identified the latest address as beginning with bc1qsz, with the wallet’s flows publicly traceable through Arkham. Matrixport rebranded as BIT in March and is a Singapore-based company founded in 2019 by former Bitmain executives. It manages more than $6 billion in assets, handles over $7 billion in monthly trading volume and is exploring U.S. capital-markets options, including a possible public listing. The transfers came as bitcoin traded slightly above $81,000 and approached a resistance zone between $81,700 and $83,000. Binance’s bitcoin reserves had climbed above 693,000 BTC by early September, while U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs recorded $433 million of inflows on Sept. 18, potentially providing demand against exchange deposits. The effect of the transfers depends on whether the coins are sold, used for margin or client activity, or left idle on the exchange.
