President Trump’s super PAC, MAGA Inc., committed another $5 million to Del Ray Media LLC for television and digital advertising against Democratic nominee and state Rep. James Talarico in the Texas Senate race. The spending adds to a costly open-seat contest between Republican state attorney general Ken Paxton and Talarico following GOP Sen. John Cornyn’s retirement. MAGA Inc. previously gave Del Ray Media $10 million for two attack ads, while the GOP-aligned Senate Leadership Fund’s Texas affiliate has provided Paxton nearly $54 million. Despite that outside support, Paxton had about $1.76 million in cash available at the end of June, compared with roughly $21.5 million for Talarico. Polling remains close, with Talarico holding a one-point advantage in a Hill/Emerson College Polling survey released Thursday, and The Cook Political Report rating the race a toss-up. Prediction-market pricing for a Republican victory rose from 52% to 59.5% over the past week. Republicans have urged Trump to deploy his campaign funds in the midterms, while he has pledged to spend $400 million to $500 million and reserve the remainder for the 2028 presidential cycle. MAGA Inc. reported $403.45 million in cash at the end of July, although Trump said its total cash on hand was close to a billion dollars.
