Apple CEO John Ternus showed the first version of a foldable iPhone earlier this month, highlighting the company’s effort to capture demand that has driven double-digit growth for foldable phones outside North America at Huawei, Samsung and other manufacturers. The devices use hinged sides to open into a larger glass display, and Apple is betting the format can expand sales of its flagship iPhones. In South Korea, the product was already part of the upgrade debate among shoppers collecting the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max at Apple’s Myeong-dong store, ahead of the iPhone Duo’s expected arrival next month. A man in his 30s who bought an iPhone 18 Pro said he had considered waiting for Apple’s foldable model.
