Frontier Airlines plans to introduce first-class seats on its Airbus fleet next year and add SpaceX's Starlink Wi-Fi, marking a shift toward more premium features at the discount carrier. Chairman Bill Franke, 89, has said better and roomier seats make sense in the U.S., while traditional budget models remain effective in emerging markets. The changes are intended to improve the passenger experience and profitability. Franke has invested in or operated budget airlines around the world, and former employees now lead some of the biggest U.S. carriers as CEOs. He made the earlier comments in an interview with CNBC.
