Injective's Meridian mainnet upgrade has entered its final governance voting stage with roughly 99% support for proposal 701 among voters who have cast ballots. Voting closes September 22 at 17:02 UTC, and approval would halt the network at block 184,394,000, around 15:00 UTC on September 24, before it resumes on Injective Chain binary version 1.20.4. Meridian would introduce regulated token implementations on the Injective EVM, allowing issuers to embed compliance and transfer requirements into tokenized products. It also adds MultiVM features to apply those controls across Injective's native and EVM environments, while an exchange precompile would give EVM applications direct access to the network's liquidity and settlement layer. The proposal includes early private RFQ testing, upgrades to execution and risk controls, and changes intended to strengthen oracle pricing and validation for tokenized equities, real-world assets and derivatives. Meridian follows Pineapple Financial's tokenization of $1 billion in mortgage records and arrives alongside 21Shares' amended S-1 filing for a spot Injective ETF.
