Anthropic and Accenture each plan to invest at least $1 billion over five years in AI safety, creating a combined commitment of more than $2 billion. Accenture, designated Anthropic's inaugural embedded evaluator, will work through its Faculty unit alongside Anthropic's development teams to evaluate and red-team frontier models, conduct alignment reviews and validate safety protocols. Anthropic will initially finance Accenture's work because no established funding system exists for independent AI evaluation, while the non-exclusive arrangement allows it to add other evaluators. Accenture has also established an Anthropic-focused business unit and plans to train about 30,000 employees on Claude. Accenture shares rose as much as 5.9% in Monday premarket trading and were about 3.5% higher later in the session. Deutsche Bank raised its price target to $175 from $136 while retaining its Hold rating, citing peer valuations but warning that traditional IT-services spending remains weak. Accenture is scheduled to report earnings on Oct. 1, 2026, when investors will assess whether AI demand is offsetting slower conventional consulting and technology-services activity.
