Eugene Investment & Securities and blockchain company BEATOZ signed a memorandum of understanding on Sept. 21 to test stablecoin settlement for tokenized securities subscription payments. Their proof of concept will examine whether subscription, payment and settlement can run through a single blockchain-based workflow, addressing the current split between onchain securities records and payments processed through conventional bank accounts. Eugene will provide securities operations expertise and its tokenized securities infrastructure, while BEATOZ will contribute hybrid blockchain technology. The companies will assess potential uses across securities operations before deciding on infrastructure integration and further cooperation. Eugene built its tokenized securities platform in 2024, joined a Korea Securities Depository pilot in 2025 and participates in Hana Financial Group’s consortium developing a Korean won-denominated stablecoin. The trial comes as South Korea prepares to introduce its regulated tokenized securities framework on Feb. 4, 2027, with payment infrastructure linked to stablecoins planned for a later stage. Other financial firms, including Samsung SDS, Hanwha Investment & Securities, Shinhan Asset Management and BNK Investment & Securities, are also developing or testing tokenization infrastructure and products.
