Ether climbed above $2,700, its highest level since January, as large holders increased activity and one whale shifted about $86.5 million from Bitcoin into staked ETH. The whale sold 1,107 Bitcoin worth $86.76 million on Hyperliquid, bought 34,422 ETH worth $86.5 million and staked the entire position over five days, Lookonchain data reported on Sept. 21. Separately, trader 0x4cee repurchased 7,567 ETH for $19.93 million after selling 10,500 ETH a month earlier at an average $2,252 price, a transaction that produced a $3.66 million profit. Santiment Intelligence recorded rising whale transactions and a record 207.17 million non-empty Ethereum wallets. More than 40 million ETH is staked, while Ethereum supports roughly $50 billion in decentralized-finance total value locked. Analysts identified $2,760 as a near-term target and $2,800-$3,000 as a key resistance area.
