Sabre says nearly 80 customers are piloting or using its MCP server in production, with participants including Virgin Australia, Flight Centre, Internova, Nexion, ALTOUR and Travel Leaders Network. Launched in September 2025, the server is described as a connective layer that allows AI agents to book, sell and service travel using Sabre data and inventory. The company says its capabilities now cover shopping and booking, with servicing in production, and that customers are generating savings and bookings. Sabre also says its technology powers applications inside ChatGPT and Claude, supports Virgin Australia’s award-winning conversational flight-search project, and underpins agency servicing automation. The company frames MCP (Model Context Protocol, a standard connection layer for AI tools) as the next major shift in travel commerce after NDC (New Distribution Capability, an airline retailing and distribution standard).
