PayProtocol signs MOU with Squid to build multichain payment infrastructure

  • PayProtocol signed an MOU with Squid to develop multichain payment infrastructure.
  • USDC, ETH, RLUSD and XRP will be tested across Ethereum and the XRP Ledger.
  • PayProtocol plans merchant-selected settlement through the Paycoin mainnet.

PayProtocol, Danal’s cryptocurrency payments unit, has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with Squid, a global cross-chain swap protocol, to connect the Paycoin mainnet and develop multichain payment infrastructure. The planned system would allow users to pay Paycoin merchants with USDC and ETH on Ethereum and RLUSD and XRP on the XRP Ledger without separately completing bridging or swap procedures. Payment processing and settlement would take place on the Paycoin mainnet. PayProtocol also plans to let merchants choose the asset in which they receive settlement, including a won-based stablecoin, USDT, USDC or PCI, even when customers pay in USDC. The company said the infrastructure is intended to reduce the need for merchants to build blockchain-specific wallets, bridges or separate liquidity systems.
