Alibaba outlines Yitian server CPU roadmap alongside Zhenwu V900 AI chip

  • T-Head plans to launch the Yitian 720 and Yitian 730 server CPUs in third-quarter 2027.
  • Yitian 730 targets up to 40% higher single-core SPECint2017/GHz performance than Yitian 710.
  • Alibaba Cloud targets more than 20GW of global data-center capacity by 2032.

Alibaba's T-Head semiconductor unit unveiled its first public roadmap for the Yitian server-CPU family at the 2026 Apsara Conference in Hangzhou, outlining Yitian 720 and Yitian 730 launches for the third quarter of 2027. The Yitian 730 will be T-Head's first processor using a fully self-developed CPU microarchitecture and is designed to deliver up to 40% higher single-core SPECint2017/GHz performance than the Yitian 710. T-Head also introduced the Zhenwu V900, which Alibaba Chief Executive Eddie Wu said delivers three times the performance of the prior M890 AI chip. Alibaba Cloud aims to operate more than 20 gigawatts of global data-center capacity by 2032 and plans to add service nodes in the fourth quarter to expand AI supernode supply.
