Swiss logistics company Kuehne+Nagel has signed a long-term contract formalizing and expanding its existing relationship with Amazon, with primary responsibility for logistics supporting Amazon Web Services’ data-center and infrastructure expansion. The agreement covers Amazon’s broader business and extends Kuehne+Nagel’s role beyond air freight to ocean, road and contract logistics across the infrastructure lifecycle, including maintenance, upgrades and expansion projects worldwide. Amazon can purchase Kuehne+Nagel shares if specified commercial milestones are reached, under a seven-year call option that can be settled in cash or shares. The deal comes as AI and cloud companies commit hundreds of billions of dollars annually to data centers, creating a major growth opportunity for logistics providers. Kuehne+Nagel said it has already supported Amazon for at least two years by moving servers and other equipment, and is expanding its involvement through trucking, ocean freight and warehouse operations.
