Nissan Motor will launch a Rogue Hybrid SUV in the United States in fall 2026, marking its first North American introduction of a self-developed hybrid vehicle. The model will use Nissan’s third-generation e-POWER system, which generates electricity with an engine while driving the vehicle exclusively through an electric motor. Initial production will take place at Nissan Motor Kyushu’s plant in Kanda, Fukuoka Prefecture, for export, although North American production remains under consideration. The entry-level model will have a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $35,490, or about ¥5.6 million. Nissan previously unveiled its first North American plug-in hybrid in November 2025 and plans to roll out additional models from early 2027. The move comes as hybrid demand expands in the United States while electric-vehicle growth slows, putting Nissan in competition with Toyota and Honda. Earlier plans described a third shift at Nissan’s Smyrna, Tennessee, plant for 2027 Rogue production, potentially creating hundreds to thousands of jobs, but the latest announcement places initial Rogue Hybrid production in Japan. The Rogue’s U.S. performance is viewed as important to Nissan’s broader turnaround.
