ZetaChain token holders approved Proposal 68 to wind down the project's Cosmos-based Layer 1 and migrate eligible native ZETA to Solana as an SPL token. The vote closed on Sept. 20, 2026, with about 99.4% support and 58% participation, above the network's 40% quorum requirement. Native ZETA will convert 1:1, with its ticker, total supply and vesting schedules unchanged, although balances will move from 18 to nine decimal places and unrepresentable fractional amounts will be rounded down. The migration has not begun: ZetaChain L1 remains operational, validators and staking continue, and a second proposal, referred to in new material as Proposal 2, must determine the snapshot height, network halt, claims procedure, withdrawal period and exchange-conversion schedule. The plan shifts resources from maintaining an independent blockchain toward Anuma, ZetaChain's private multi-model AI application and its Private Memory Layer. Anuma had attracted more than 300,000 users since February 2026 and processed more than 1 million requests across 35 AI models when the proposal was announced. ZetaChain also cited the engineering, validator-coordination and security costs of maintaining a standalone chain; six interconnected Cosmos-based EVM chains were breached in August 2026, with roughly $5.7 million drained across the incidents. ZETA rose more than 58% from $0.037 to $0.061 after the governance vote. SOL later reached $117, supported by $47.62 million in US spot ETF inflows and a 73.61% increase in derivatives trading volume, reaching a technical target identified in earlier coverage.
