Twenty-seven Democratic lawmakers led by Representative Debbie Dingell urged President Donald Trump to maintain protections keeping Chinese automakers and connected vehicle technologies (systems linking vehicles to networks and services) out of the U.S. market. Their appeal came ahead of Trump’s meeting with China’s President Xi Jinping this week. Earlier this month, Trump told Fox News he would accept Chinese car companies building cars in the United States.
