Ether gained 74.58% in the third quarter of 2026, its strongest Q3 performance since CoinGlass began tracking returns in 2016, recovering from steep first-half losses and recently trading around $2,700. ETH changed hands at $2,746 after gaining more than 10% over the prior week, while Kalshi traders assigned a 23% probability that it reaches $4,000 by year-end, up about 7 percentage points over the week. BitMine Immersion Technologies, chaired by Ethereum advocate Tom Lee, added 27,562 ETH worth nearly $76 million and held 5,983,940 ETH as of Sept. 20, equal to 4.9% of supply. Derivatives open interest, declining exchange balances and renewed US spot Ethereum ETF inflows have accompanied the recovery, though prediction-market traders still placed only an 11% probability on ETH exceeding its prior $4,946 all-time high before year-end.
