Apple and Google have posted job listings seeking expertise in stablecoins, tokenized deposits and blockchain infrastructure, indicating both companies are evaluating digital-asset applications for existing payment and cloud businesses. Apple is seeking a Financial Product Strategy Lead for Apple Pay in New York to help develop products supporting Apple Card and Apple Cash within its Wallets, Payments and Commerce organization. The role covers product structures, commercial models and partnerships, and lists stablecoins, tokenized deposits and blockchain among its preferred qualifications. Google is hiring an Industry Principal Architect for Web3 in Hong Kong within Google Cloud. The role involves advising blockchain foundations, exchanges, custodians and fintech institutions, identifying industry obstacles and feeding those findings into Google Cloud's product roadmap. Required expertise includes stablecoin payment systems, tokenized deposits, custody infrastructure, blockchain validators and smart contracts, as well as compliance regimes overseen by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Securities and Futures Commission. Neither listing confirms plans to launch a stablecoin or another new product. The roles instead point to growing institutional interest in stablecoin-related payment and infrastructure capabilities, alongside initiatives such as Google Cloud Universal Ledger, the Open USD stablecoin project, and stablecoin settlement expansions by Visa and Mastercard. Earlier information on the vacancies was attributed to Bloomingbit, while the newer reporting is attributed to Decrypt.
