Seiko Epson is moving beyond printers and projectors toward business-to-business markets, aiming to raise industrial businesses' share of group revenue from 33% to 50% by 2035 and their profit contribution from 45% to 70%. President and CEO Junkichi Yoshida presented the "ENGINEERED FUTURE 2035" vision and mid-term management plan at a Seoul briefing marking Epson Korea's 30th anniversary. Epson plans to invest ¥280 billion over three years in growth and strategic businesses including industrial robotics, industrial inkjet, microdevices, precision components and functional materials. The company intends to apply its 145 years of precision machining expertise from the Seiko watch business and its timing-device technology to robots designed for industrial sites requiring fine manipulation. Epson will maintain printing as a stable profit base while targeting group revenue of ¥1.5 trillion by 2028, alongside ROIC, ROE and ROS of at least 8%, 10% and 8%, respectively. Epson Korea reported fiscal 2025 revenue of ₩227.6 billion, up about 28%, with Precision Innovation and Industrial & Robotics driving growth. Yoshida also said Epson would deepen cooperation with Korean manufacturers and strengthen support for robot customers in South Korea.
