Dutch deeptech company Morphotonics has raised €40 million from 3M Ventures, Innovation Industries, BOM and Invest-NL to expand manufacturing, hire staff and develop applications in data-center optics and advanced semiconductor packaging. Based in Veldhoven, the company uses roll-to-plate nanoimprint lithography to stamp microscopic structures onto substrates as large as 1.1 by 1.3 meters, producing optical components such as lenses, prisms and waveguides. Morphotonics has grown from a smart-glasses and display-optics supplier into a company targeting optical interconnects, where photonics can move data between servers and network equipment with lower energy use than copper. The funding extends a Series B that first closed in September 2024 with more than $10 million, or about €9 million, from 3M Ventures, Innovation Industries and BOM. Hugo da Silva took over as CEO in October 2024, and Morphotonics reported revenue growth of three to four times year over year in 2025. The company has also opened an office in China, established a contract manufacturing network and partnered with Leia in 3D display technology. Its existing expansion includes a next-generation machine designed to produce more than 6 million waveguides annually, while global system deployments are targeted to rise from 10 to 15 currently to 50 within two to three years.
