IonQ is expanding its South Korean operations through a multi-year agreement with technology company SDT covering deployment of the Superion 256 quantum computing system and silicon-vacancy (SiV) quantum memory. The installations will be the first of both technologies in South Korea and will serve one of SDT’s established customers. The companies also plan to develop a hybrid quantum-classical data center, including infrastructure for medical and biomedical research through an SDT cancer center initiative. SDT plans to establish a quantum manufacturing and system-integration campus in Gumi for SiV memory packaging, quantum system assembly and commissioning, strengthening IonQ’s international supply network. IonQ shares rose 3.53% after the announcement but remained about 10% below their year-start level; the new market update cited a 0.52% premarket decline, differing from earlier reported premarket data. Analysts retain a Strong Buy consensus based on 11 Buy ratings and one Hold, with an average price target of $71. IonQ also raised its annual revenue forecast to $450 million-$460 million after completing its SkyWater Technology acquisition.
