Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission Chairman Peng Jin-lung unveiled a five-pillar Taiwan Financial Market Excellence Development Plan, with measures beginning in batches from October. The framework covers an Asian Asset Management Center, internationalized capital markets, all-ages finance, trust-based finance and three-track finance. The Stock Market Dashboard has launched its first phase, publishing credit and leverage indicators, investor default statistics, and listed and over-the-counter company revenue trends. Newly disclosed data include the number of investors facing margin calls and forced liquidation. The Kaohsiung Special Zone is scheduled to add family-office advisory services, selected life-insurance products and other offerings by the end of October. Public hearings on nine sub-regulations under the Virtual Asset Service Act will start in October, with a regulatory preview planned for November and December and formal release targeted for the first quarter of next year. Banks can immediately begin deposit-tokenization trials, while an all-ages insurance pilot offering about NT$200 in incentives for qualifying motorcycle policyholders will start Jan. 1 next year. The FSC said it would pursue market innovation alongside stronger supervision and information transparency.
