DoorDash agreed to pay $131.5 million to settle New York City allegations that it underpaid or paid delivery workers late. The company said the settlement includes $12.3 million for drivers who were underpaid or paid late, $83 million to resolve a dispute over how delivery-worker pay was calculated, and $16.7 million in fines for the city's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection. Earlier announced terms said $115 million would go to more than 260,000 workers, alongside more than $16 million in civil penalties and costs. The dispute centered on compensation for on-call time, when Dashers are logged into the app but are not completing an active delivery. DoorDash said it used a different calculation method from the city, acknowledged mistakes while denying intentional errors, and agreed to adopt the city's approach going forward.
