Five Adani Group companies paid a combined ₹1.51 crore, roughly $158,000, to settle Securities and Exchange Board of India proceedings over alleged disclosure lapses and corporate governance violations. The companies were Adani Enterprises Ltd, Adani Green Energy Ltd, Adani Total Gas Ltd, AWL Agri Business Ltd and Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. Adani Enterprises paid ₹76.05 lakh, Adani Green Energy paid ₹45.50 lakh and the other three each paid ₹9.75 lakh. None admitted or denied wrongdoing. The matters involved undisclosed related-party transactions in older annual reports and audit reports without proper peer review certificates. SEBI’s review followed Hindenburg Research’s January 2023 allegations, while key market-manipulation charges had been dismissed by September 2025. The September 22, 2026, settlement closes the remaining SEBI proceedings. Separately, Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani settled a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission case for $18 million in May 2026 without admitting guilt, leading to dropped criminal charges. Hindenburg Research dissolved in early 2026.
