Apple began selling M5 Max and M5 Ultra Mac Studio models and the M6 Mac mini in markets including Hong Kong from September 22-23, positioning desktops with advanced CPUs, Neural Engines and neural network accelerators for local AI inference without internet or recurring token charges. Prices range from HK$7,299 for the entry-level M6 Mac mini to HK$44,999 for the top-tier M5 Ultra Mac Studio, while U.S. configurations can approach $20,000. The M5 Ultra supports up to 512GB of unified memory and Mac Studios can be linked through RDMA for distributed inference; Apple demonstrated four machines running a trillion-parameter model from one wall outlet. Separately, Apple is investigating a screenless health and fitness band similar to Whoop, but the project remains undecided and would not launch before 2028.
