Republican Sen. John Curtis of Utah asked the Senate Judiciary Committee to subpoena Donald Trump Jr. and Hunter Biden over whether their ties to the presidency enabled private financial gain, preferential treatment or access. Curtis cited Trump Jr.’s promotion of family-backed cryptocurrency ventures and advisory and financial ties to a prediction-market platform regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He also called for scrutiny of Hunter Biden’s business with foreign companies in China and Ukraine during former President Joe Biden’s presidency and presidential campaign. The request follows broader congressional disputes over President Donald Trump’s memecoin, World Liberty Financial and digital-asset regulation. The Judiciary Committee has received Curtis’s letter but has not committed to an investigation.
