Robinhood’s Meme coin and tokenized-stock activity is losing momentum, according to DeFi researcher Ignas. The platform’s tokenized-stock TVL (total value locked) has remained flat for two consecutive weeks, while the number of shares burned has exceeded the number issued. Ignas said further trading-volume declines could reduce returns, weaken investors’ willingness to hold, increase selling pressure, and prompt LPs (liquidity providers) to exit, shrinking liquidity further. He said he has already left related LP positions because yields had fallen sharply and argued that the market needs a new catalyst to regain momentum. By contrast, tokenized stocks on Solana appear to be rising, leading him to suggest that a shift of capital from Robinhood to Solana could prove more durable. Ignas also said Meme coins are generally trades tied to a single market cycle rather than assets to hold long term. WIF represented the previous cycle but has since lost ground in both price performance and market attention, while FARTCOIN faces a similar situation. DOGE is one of the few exceptions to have spanned two cycles, although it is no longer a strong performer. Ignas contrasted Meme coins’ short lifespans with Bitcoin’s ability to generate fresh market narratives and warned investors against relying on long-term holdings of Meme coins such as ZCAT and CASHCAT.
