Geo has launched Geo Debates, a short-form video platform that presents opposing arguments as traceable claims, beginning with whether the crypto industry can succeed without the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. The first debate follows the U.S. Senate’s Sep. 15 failure to invoke cloture on H.R. 3633, with 49 votes in favor and 50 against, short of the 60 required to advance formal debate. Geo does not take a position on the bill. Its format uses two participants, four timed alternating statements and about three and a half minutes of video, while viewers vote on the stronger argument and inspect each speaker’s individual claims. Published debates become entries in Geo’s searchable knowledge graph (linked records of information and relationships), connecting points to sources, evidence and contradictions. The company classifies statements as factual claims or opinions but does not determine whether they are correct. The CLARITY Act would divide digital-asset oversight mainly between the CFTC (U.S. derivatives regulator) and the SEC, with registration routes for exchanges, brokers and dealers. Although the Senate vote failed, H.R. 3633 remains on the calendar, and lawmakers have left open the possibility of renewed negotiations despite a shortened legislative schedule and disagreements over consumer protection, national security, financial stability, ethics, public officials’ crypto interests and stablecoin rewards.
