Pylontech began mass production of 588-Ah and 601-Ah prismatic LFP cells (lithium iron phosphate batteries) for energy storage systems at its Hefei plant on Sept. 21, 2026. More than 100 MWh has already been produced, and the cells will be integrated into the company's next-generation 6.25 MWh and 8 MWh PyOcean systems, for which project deliveries are planned. The 601-Ah cell provides an energy density of 425.8 Wh/L, more than 12,000 cycles and 96.5% energy efficiency. Pylontech said the higher capacity reduces the number of cells and connections required, supporting more compact systems, simpler integration and improved lifecycle economics. Production uses fully automated key processes, more than 120 industrial robots and 180 sets of intelligent manufacturing equipment, while the company's manufacturing management system records production and quality data throughout the process for end-to-end traceability. The expansion comes as Pylontech grows its large-scale energy storage business through projects in China and Europe, including systems in Yangzhou and Ningxia.
