Saudi Arabia’s Ceer has launched its first two vehicles, the EXOBOT luxury electric sedan and SUV, as it seeks to build a domestic auto industry and compete with Tesla, Chinese automakers and established EV brands. The flagship tri-motor versions produce up to 1,111 horsepower and 1,500 Newton-meters of torque, with claimed 0-to-100-kilometers-per-hour times of 2.1 seconds for the sedan and 2.4 seconds for the SUV. Sales in Saudi Arabia are scheduled to begin in early 2027, followed by regional expansion in 2028, while Ceer plans five additional models by 2030. Chief Executive Officer Jim DeLuca said some future models will be hybrids and gas-powered cars. The company is a joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Foxconn, with BMW providing development and engineering services.
