Mirendil, an AI startup founded by former Anthropic researchers, is in discussions to raise up to $1 billion at a $5 billion post-money valuation. Kleiner Perkins is in talks to lead the round, with Andreessen Horowitz also participating. The proposed valuation is five times the $1 billion valuation assigned roughly three months ago, when the company completed a $200 million seed round led by both firms. Founded in 2026, Mirendil is developing self-improving AI models and plans to launch a frontier model in early 2027. The company has also pursued substantial computing capacity, including a previously recorded $100 million Google Cloud deal involving TPUs, NVIDIA GPUs and managed clusters.
