WPP has opened a 34,000-square-foot production facility at Devon’s Point in East London, the first site in a planned global rollout aimed at meeting demand for high-quality advertising that can be deployed quickly across social media and other platforms. Cindy Rose, WPP’s CEO for the past year, brought the company’s production capabilities together in WPP Production, one of four operating units, early in 2026 as part of her turnaround plan. She said clients including Coca-Cola, Unilever and Ford need to reach consumers through hyper-local, community-led campaigns at scale while also improving their visibility to algorithms, AI chatbots and other services. The hub combines rapid shooting and editing facilities, AI-powered production, modular studio environments, creator collaboration spaces and post-production capabilities. Rose said the facility is intended to help WPP win integrated mandates spanning creative, production, media and enterprise solutions, while expanding its share of existing clients’ addressable spending. The company’s AI production capabilities include placing a real Ford Capri into a virtual Paris street. Rose’s turnaround has shown progress, with better-than-expected results and confirmation of WPP’s guidance last month sending the company’s shares up 29% that day. She said WPP had identified a number of assets that were not central to its integrated client proposition and was considering full or partial disposals and partnership models to streamline its balance sheet and create capacity to invest in growth engines.
