KG Mobility, or KGM, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Ethiopia’s B&C Manufacturing Group and Youngsan Glonet to establish a knock-down assembly and production base in Ethiopia. Construction is scheduled to begin in October, with production targeted for the first half of 2027 at an annual scale of approximately 1,000 vehicles, including the Torres EVX and Musso EV. B&C will secure the site, infrastructure and facility construction, while Youngsan Glonet will provide plant design, technical consulting, engineering support and production equipment. KGM will supply the vehicles and parts for local assembly. The partners plan to serve Ethiopian customers and export vehicles to Somalia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Djibouti. Chief Executive Officer Hwang Ki-young said KGM plans to expand its KD operations into Saudi Arabia and Vietnam within the year as it pursues growth in emerging markets.
